  • Super Fun & Modern Manor House Wedding – Wyreside Hall

“THE WEDDING PHOTOS ARE FAB, WE ARE STRUGGLING TO PICK AS THEY ARE ALL AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CAPTURING OUR SPECIAL DAY!”

Molly and Sam got married in September at the spectacular Wyreside Hall, which is a huge country house in Scorton. They had their ceremony at the local village church, which was so pretty. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!

    Getting ready

Molly got ready at her parents house all the girls were there, and the children, and the atmosphere was so energetic. Mollys Dad was sweeping the path when I arrived, when he had finished that, he came in and started making gin cocktails, and lining up the samba shots. The morning went smoothly and before you knew it, shots downed, dresses on and off to church. The girls then jumped into a Rolls Royce to get to the ceremony. Many of Mollys friends from the village were waiting for her to arrive to get a glimpse of her amazing dress before she headed inside.

    Getting hitched

The ceremony was a beautiful service in their village church not far from Wyreside Hall. The Church was full to bursting, everyone looked amazing. The sun was shining in through the window as Molly made her way down the aisle, it looked incredible. During the ceremony they had a poem written and read by her sister and bridesmaid. It was hilarious and had Molly and Sam laughing all the way through.

    The party

The reception was in the main hall at Wyreside Hall. They chose the venue because it’s near their home and they just fell in love with it. It was a elegant wedding, which oozed class. Mollys dress was stunning, set off by a gorgeous 1920s hair clip, whilst Sam looked sharp in his black velvet dinner jacket and bow tie. I love shooting Wyreside Hall weddings because the building is just incredible. The views from the front garden at Wyreside Hall are endless. The decor in the newly renovated building were just as stunning, which was perfect for photographs as the rain rolled in later on.

The best part of the day was the afternoon reception, because they had the amazing Paul Guard entertaining all afternoon. Paul involves all the guests, gets everyone in the party mood and brings endless amounts of amazing photo oportunities. They also had a band during the first dance – it was the best way to kick off the evening reception!

    The couple

Molly wore a dress from Lulu browns and a stunning pair of blue shoes by Charlotte Mills, my favourite wedding shoe designer! Sam wore a black velvet dinner jacket, it was gorgeous, they looked amazing.

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is do your wedding your way!!

Their main aim was to make sure all the guests were entertained all day, and having Paul there ensured everyone was involved and the energy was electric all day!

ELEGANT EAVES HALL WEDDING – AMY & MATT

Amy and Matt got married in June at Downham Church and then on to the spectacular Eaves Hall!!

    Bridal prep

Amy got ready in the coach house, and the atmosphere was buzzing all morning. Hair and MUA were busy getting everyone ready, Flower Design popped in to show Amy her stunning bouquet, it was all go before we headed up to the main house for Amy to pop her dress on!

    The ceremony

The ceremony was a beautiful service in their local church. During the ceremony the Vicar was very down to earth and made the service very personal,  the church was full to the brim and roaring with laughter.

    The reception

Sun shining, wine flowing and everyone was outside enjoying all the games, I came out after photographing the room and there was a huge, very energetic game of  tug of war going on!!

Amy and Matt’s wedding was just amazing. Everyone was there to have a party and when the live band came on later, the dance floor exploded with Dad dancing, snake hips and drunkeness… everything I love about weddings!!!

    RAINY DAY WEDDING – YORKSHIRE

Anne and Tom got married in July at the spectacular Standedge Tunnel, which is a quirky venue in Huddersfield. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and even the rain didn’t dampen the day!

    Getting ready

Anne got ready a small barn close to Standegde Tunnel. All her bridesmaids had made the trip from Amsterdam to be with her, and the atmosphere was so calm. The wedding party then took A canal barge to get to the ceremony. A few logistics to get the bridal party safely on to the barge, and away we were. Tom got ready across the village with the groomsmen. He travelled to Standedge Tunnel with the whole wedding party on the barge too.

    The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate affair in the main hall. This was a DIY wedding and the bride and bridesmaids along with the lads had spent the previous day decorating the venue. During the ceremony they had family and friends perform orchestral music on their violins. It was one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard, an absolute show stopper. It was so unique and a beautiful way of involving everyone in the ceremony.

    After the ceremony

The reception was in a private room at the venue. They chose Standedge Tunnel because its so quirky and they just fell in love with it. It was a a big wedding, which included their nearest and dearest and friends who had travelled across the world to enjoy their special day. I love shooting quirky weddings because the surroundings are so unusual.

The couple met whilst travelling in China and have been together for years. They got in touch with me when I was shooting on behalf of Claire Basi Uk and their enquiry sounded perfect for me. They said they didn’t care about anything except having an epic party, and I loved that they just wanted to party and eat cake. The day was perfect, despite the persistent rain. The speeches were hilarious and they ended their amazing day with a great live band and loads of dancing!!

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is find a fantastic wedding venue, the quirkier the better.

Anne and Tom’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and just the happiest occasion. Here’s their wonderful wedding!

  • Destination Wedding Photography – Italy

Becky and Matt got married in May at the spectacular Villa Baroncino, which is a stunning vineyard in Perugia Italy. It was the most beautiful wedding and one of the most beautiful Italian weddings I have shot!

    Getting ready

Becky got ready in the Villas bridal suite, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Becky got to watch a lot of the preparation for the wedding as her third floor bedroom overlooked the garden and vineyard. The wedding party then walked the short distance to get to the ceremony. Becky looked beautiful in her Pronovias dress walking down the aisle with her Dad. Matt got ready in a gorgeous room in the Villa with his Best Man, when I popped over to get some groom prep images, they were both finalising their speeches!

    The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate affair in the grounds of the venue. A wooden flower coverd arch way had been put up to create an alter, and the vintage chic chairs were set out perfectly in the garden for the guests to sit on. During the ceremony they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was so beautiful and a beautiful way of involving everyone in the ceremony.

    After the ceremony

The reception was in a marquee at the venue. They chose Villa Baroncino because they could have the place for the whole weekend and they just fell in love with it. It was a small family wedding, which included their nearest and dearest and friends who had travelled across the world to enjoy the Italian sunshine. I love shooting destination weddings because I get to do the job I love in a new and exciting place, and I absoloutlet buzz off travelling to new places so unusual. I offer special rates on destination weddings, so if you are getting married abroad, get in touch. On my hit list, France, Greece, Iceland, Ibiza, Ireland, U.S.A & Thailand.but I will literally travel anywhere in the world!!

    The couple

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is find a fantastic wedding planner, one who gets your vision and explore all avenues for your suppliers. Hiring a wedding photographer in Italy can be expensive and you only get around 3/4 hours coverage. Taking me with you could be so much more cost effective!!

Becky and Matt’s wedding was everything I love about weddings and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their gorgeous wedding!

  • Knipe Hall Wedding Photography

I LOVE THEM. THANK YOU FOR CAPTURING OUR DAY SO BEAUTIFULLY!!

Grace and Alex got married in May at the rustic DIY Wedding Knipe Hall, which is an old barn in Penrith. It was one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot and Grace & Alex absolutely nailed it!

    The excitement before the wedding

Grace got ready in the main bedroom at the barn Graces family and bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was so energetic. Graces parents were preparing the VW Beetle & Camper van for photos, giving it a last minute polish and adding garlands of flowers to the bumpers, whilst the girls were having their hair and makeup done.

Alex got ready at the Mardale Inn with the lads and they arrived at Knipe Hall in the pristine camper van which Alex drove himself,  then they cracked open a few beers for the ceremony, helping to calm any last minute nerves.

    The Wedding bit

The ceremony was an intimate service in the barn. Completely breaking with tradition; which I love, Grace  walked down the aisle with her Grandad and her Dad, it was super cute and such a nice touch. During the ceremony Billy, Grace & Alexs son gave them the thumbs up as he presented them with their rings. It was so personal and so unique. Graces cousin sang and played the guitar whilst the couple signed the legal bits and everyone enjoyed his music, a lovely way of stamping your ceremony with a personal touch.

    The party

The reception was out in the garden at the venue. They chose DIY Wedding at Knipe Hall, as a barn wedding is what they had dreamed of and this meant they could spend more time decorating it to their own style. It was a rustic wedding, which is my favourite. I love shooting  Knipe Hall weddings because the building is just incredible. The light in the rooms and the barn is just beautiful, it’s a real fave of mine!!

During the reception drinks, Grace, Alex and myself all jumped in the Beetle, sunroof down and drove over to Hawes Water.

With the couple getting married in the Lake District they really wanted to grab some couples portraits by an actual Lake. To do this, it meant Grace climbing over a dry stone wall in her dress and shoes. She did, and she also said “I have sheep poo on my dress already, so it doesn’t matter if my dress gets dirty”, I just loved her for that!

    The couple

Grace got in touch with me after searching on Instagram for Knipe Hall wedding photographers and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, someone who had shot there before and I loved that they just really liked my style of photography.

Grace and Alex’s DIY Knipe Hall wedding was so much fun and everything I get excited about when I am shooting a wedding. Here’s a snippet of their wonderful day!

Bashall Barn Wedding Photography // A rustic themed bank holiday wedding in the Ribble Valley

Natalie and Hannah got married in April at the spectacular Bashall Barn, which on a working farm in Clitheroe. It was such a happy day and they even managed to get married on the terrace outside over looking the amazing Ribble Valley!

    The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate service in the main hall. The guests were sat on beautiful wooden chairs, in a horse shoe shape, where they were able to watch the couple say their vows with the truly epic backdrop of the hills in the background. The reception was out the wooden terrace at the venue. Nat & Hannah chose Bashall Barn because it has so many options and they just fell in love with it. It was a rustic wedding, which went so well with the styling of the venue.

I love shooting rustic weddings as I love natural elements and fresh flowers. Bashall Barn is set in one of the most stunning areas in Lancashire, it is nestled in the heart of the Ribble Valley and sits on top of a hill which gives great views towards Clitheroe and Whalley.

    Entertainment

Danny Finn was their wedding host & DJ for the day, he engaged with everyone there, handing out cards with questions about the couple, and how they knew Hannah & Natalie. Then a game of MRS & MRS was met with huge amounts of laughter and some funny stories about the couple.

    Decor

They decorated the venue with bunting and flowers, because it was a spring wedding. Their wedding cake was one of the best I have seen for ages, Nat has a mild obsession for minions and thought the cake would be an ideal way to showcase this, beautiful traditional cake at the front and then when you turned it round it had minions crawling around all over it!!

    Food

For dinner they served pizza from a wood fire stove, which was so yummy. The first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle, and they finished off the evening with everyone lying around drunk off their tits!!

    Memorable Moments

Maddie the youngest dog barked at the most inappropriate moment. “is there anyone here present, know why these 2 people should not be joined in matrimony” barks…everyone laughed.

    The couple

Natalie & Hannah are so chilled, no bridezillas here.  They got in touch with me as they knew me through a friend and their enquiry was right up my street.  It would be the first time I had shot a wedding at Bashall Barn and I had been dying to shoot a wedding there for ages. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they were so laid back.

    Advice for other couples

Set a budget and double it! Plan as far ahead as possible and make it about you as a couple, dream big but be realistic!

  • THE VILLA WREA GREEN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE VILLA WREA GREEN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Hayley and David got married last Friday at The Villa Wrea Green, which is a stunning venue in Lancashire. It was a beautiful day and the sun even made an appearance!

Bride and Groom Prep // The Villa Wrea Green Wedding Photography

Hayley got ready in the bridal suite with her girls and the star of the show Penelope…3 going on 23, she has some sass that little girl, she’s ace !!

The atmosphere was full of excitement. David sent Hayley some gifts to open whilst she was getting ready, and the last thing David said to me was make sure you get pictures of her crying, she never cries, I want to see her get emotional!!

His gifts were perfect and Hayley did cry, she was so happy with the amazing framed constellation maps David had bought for her.

David got ready at home with the lads, Father of the bride having issues tying his tie, although he said he was a pro at it !!

The vows // The Villa Wrea Green Wedding Photography

The ceremony was an intimate service in the main hall. The room was full of their closest family and friends. David & Hayley decided to go for a late ceremony at 4pm, but for them it was perfect, it meant that they could create the relaxed, laid back wedding that completely reflects them as a couple. During the vows Penelope decided that she needed to talk to her mum, just as her dad was trying to say I do, she had everyone laughing.

It was a really fun,  but short ceremony, David & Hayley didn’t want readings and all the fuss of a long service, so it was in and out so to speak, and off for photos and fun !!

The reception // The Villa Wrea Green Wedding Photography

The reception was in the orangery at the venue. They chose The Villa Wrea Green because it’s near their home and they just fell in love with it. It was a rustic, wild flower theme wedding, which was perfect for the venue and their styling. I love shooting The Villa weddings because the grounds are so pretty.

They chose to have speeches in the piano lounge after the photos, so at 6pm everyone gathered in their to listen to the hilarious speeches from all main contenders in the afternoon.

The funniest part of the day was the speeches, because the best men took David down in immense style. See photos for the calling cards made of David !! They also had their cake cutting and first dance before their meal during the party – it was the first time I’ve seen that at a wedding and I loved it.

The couple // The Villa Wrea Green Wedding Photography

Hayley wore a beautiful dress, I completely fell in love with it, from ChiChi London, and an evening dress from Asos and David wore the most stylish suit from Marc Darcy and they looked so incredible. Hayley’s shoes were blue suede from Miss KG, they looked bloody awesome together.

The couple met years ago at work and fell in love almost straight away and have been together ever since. They got in touch with me as I have known David from living in Kirkham and sharing the same local pub and their enquiry was really touching. They said they didn’t care about anything except having an epic party, and I thought it was awesome that they just really wanted me there.

Hayley and David’s wedding was totally epic and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their stunning wedding!

Ribby Hall Wedding Photography – A relaxed winter wedding full of luxury & sparkle

Stephanie & Brad got married in December at their local church in the village of Wesham, then on to Ribby Hall. It was a beautiful wedding and the sun shone all day long!!

    The excitement before the wedding

Stephanie got ready at her parent’s house with all her bridesmaids and her Mum. It was a fast paced morning with hair and makeup downstairs, bridesmaids laughing drinking tea and maybe a few prosecco’s!!

Brad got ready at home with his Best Man and ushers, they were super chilled and had everything ready and prepped the night before by Stephanie, so it was just a case of turn up and get changed, maybe have a little whiskey for the nerves and off to the church.

    The wedding

The ceremony was an intimate service at the village church, their Vicar was fantastic and had the guests laughing and even calmed Steph & Brads nerves. The church was decorated with amazing wintery blue & white flowers which the couple had chosen, along with giant balloons which were finished with ivy, and the giant Christmas tree was still up at the altar, it felt like a crisp wintery wedding throughout the whole day.

    After the ceremony

The guests came flooding out of the church to congratulate Steph & Brad, then everyone headed the short distance to Ribby Hall. They chose Ribby Hall as it was close by & they could personalise the room with their icy coloured décor, sparkles and fresh flowers with a rustic twist.

It was a winter wedding, and I love a bloody good winter wedding. as it brings the most gorgeous light. Ribby Hall has a vast amount of places for gorgeous photos. We thought we would take advantage of the time of year and get up into Ribby Halls popular Santa’s Grotto in the Tree House, we used lots of creative angles and tricks to bend the light and create some amazing photos filled with fairy lights!!

    The couple

Stephanie wore a Stella York dress and Brad wore a blue 3 piece suit. They looked incredible!!

The couple met 8 years ago and have been together ever since. Brad asked Steph to marry her in 2016 in their first home together and from that day the couple planned their awesome winter wedding with lots of detail and personal touches.

It was Stephanie’s mum Julie who got in touch about the wedding photos, she worked at the primary school my son attended, so I have known Julie for over 10 years. I loved that she thought of me to capture the wedding. They opted for the photography & videography package so that they had every angle covered. Lauren & I work together on lots of weddings, she is very cool and an awesome videographer!!

Steph and Brads advice on planning your wedding…do not stress!! Enjoy the ideas phase and let it be a reflection of your own style and taste. Most importantly take some time out from the day, just the two of you to have 15 minutes together to take it all in and breath.

Steph & Brad’s wedding was everything I love about weddings, personal to them, filled with fun, lots of dancing, and the Best Man doing the worm across the dance floor without warning !!

    Mitton Hall Wedding Photography

A look back to Jenny and Jack’s  wedding in December in the gorgeous Ribble Valley!!

    Bridal Prep

Jenny got ready at her parents house in Longridge with all of her bridesmaids, flower girl, Mum and Dad, it was a lovely morning with lots of laughter.

The house had been decorated with bridal balloons and banners, there was plenty of food and treats and a few bottles of Prosecco to celebrate the morning. Once they were ready the girls then jumped into a Rolls Royce to get to the ceremony.

Lots of neighbours and friends gathered eagerly outside the church to see Jenny arrive, with the wedding being just after Christmas, there were plenty of people still off work, and Jenny’s onlookers gave some big oooos’s and awww’s as she got out of the car with her Dad.

Jack got ready at home with the lads. It was an extra special day for Jack as it was his birthday!! Jenny asked his mates to surprise him with a gift that she had left all wrapped up. Jenny had bought him a bloody awesome Hugo Boss watch.

    At the Church

The ceremony was a beautiful service at their local church in Longridge. The church looked so cute with candles and lights, and flowers all fitting in with the time of year. They chose a full wedding service led by the vicar, and readings from family and friends made the service very personal to them.

    The Reception

They chose Mitton Hall as we all know, December is renowned for being hit and miss with the weather, so Mitton Hall is a venue which gives plenty of photo opportunities if it rained.

It was a rustic wedding, which personally I love. They had hand made lots of items for the tables and their table plan made with gin bottles and crates was the best table plan in my opinion, I LOVE gin. Jenny even made the 4 tier cake herself, it was magnificent, and absolute show stopper !!

I love shooting Mitton Hall weddings because the old hall has a beautiful chandelier and a great big open fire which-made the whole atmosphere more festive . There’s photo opportunities everywhere, from small door ways, to the epic light that comes in through the windows, and trees that line the pathway to the hall, I just love shooting here.

They had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and DFC brought the dance floor to life in the evening. They decorated the venue with wintery pieces and Gin bottles, and it all looked bloody amazing!!

    The Couple

Jenny wore St Patrick ‘Lexy’ dress, purchased from Love Story Bridal, and Jack wore Green tweed suit from Moss Bros and they both looked so gorgeous.

Jenny’s flowers were amnesia and white roses with gypsophila by Charlotte Bailey at The Flower Shop, Clitheroe. Jack looked dapper in his tweed suit with his shiny new Hugo Boss watch taking pride of place!!

Jenny got in touch with me about a 10 months before the wedding, I met the couple at their best mates wedding. They said they wanted a fun photographer to capture their day, and I loved that they were so chilled. The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is to enjoy every minute as it flies by so quickly!

Jenny and Jack’s wedding was just stunning and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their wonderful day!

  • Swan Inn Newby Bridge Wedding

    INTIMATE WINTER WEDDING

Kierson and Steve got married in December at the spectacular Swan Inn, which is a shabby chic hotel in Newby Bridge, Cumbria. It was the most beautiful wedding and such a perfect day for a perfect couple!

    Getting ready

Kierson got ready in the Fabulous Loft at the hotel with all her girls, her daughter Alicia & Steves daughters Natalie & leanne, as well as her Mum and her flower girl, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Kierson’s Dad was overwhelmed with emotions when he saw her in her beautiful bespoke dress. The wedding party then walked the short distance to get to the ceremony. Steve got ready in a gorgeous room in the hotel with his Best Man. I think Steve had to be the most excited & calm Groom I have ever photographed.

    The ceremony

The ceremony was an intimate affair at the main hall. The Christmas tree was still lit up in the corner of the room which made the whole service that little bit more magical. During the ceremony they had a poem read, on behalf of Kierson’s brother, it was an Italian poem translated into English. It was so unique and such a personal service.

    After the ceremony

The reception was in a private room at the venue. They chose Swan Inn because they could have the place for the whole weekend and they just fell in love with it. It was a small wedding, which was completely personal to them, they focused their energy on creating a wedding that included all their girls, intimate with lots of laughter and amazing food. It was a classy affair, just like Kierson & Steve. I love shooting Swan Inn weddings because the decor is so unusual. This was the first time I have shot a wedding at the Swan Inn, I have always wanted to shoot a wedding here, I love the place and have been many times before, but shoot at the venue made me very happy, I just adore the place, the river that runs by and the food at the Swan Inn is amazing!!

They had a drinks reception in the afternoon, and live music in the evening. Kierson & Steve really wanted a live band and opted for the incredible Flynn & Tonics ! They decorated the venue with flowers and kendal mint cake, because the venue is so pretty they didn’t need to go over the top.

For dinner they served a roast dinner, which was gobbled down in seconds by everyone. Kierson & Steve made a place setting for me too, so I sat down with the guests and talked and laughed until the speeches started. The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with drinks and dancing.

    The couple

Kierson wore A beautiful hand made dress with a long sleeve crop lace jacket over the top and Steve wore an Italian wool navy suit by T.M.Lewin and they looked so perfect. The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is plan well and remember to enjoy the day.

Kierson and Steve’s wedding was just the happiest occasion and everything I love about weddings. Here’s their wonderful wedding!
